Mill Laborer
Ashland, ME - Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Schedule: Full-time/Days; 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Four days per week, Monday through Friday with rotating day off.
Payrate: $22.37/hr.
Job Description:
Now seeking dependable Mill Laborers to join a well-established sawmill operation in Ashland. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and want to build skills in an industrial production environment. Prior production and/or manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required. Benefits are available after temp-to-hire period.
The Mill Laborer plays an essential role in daily operations by supporting the production of high-quality lumber products. This position involves operating and monitoring machinery, inspecting materials for quality, assisting with basic maintenance, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. Ideal candidate will have good communication skills, strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers.
  • Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas.
  • Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor.
  • Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by site supervisors.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Prior machine operator experience helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to operate machinery, stand for extended periods, and move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
  • Background check required.
