Job description

Build Something That Doesn't Exist Yet.

Most lending jobs ask you to close loans.

We're asking you to build a career.

At Savvy STR Home Loans, we're creating a different kind of lending company. As the specialized lending arm of Savvy STR Agents, we help real estate investors finance short-term rentals, vacation homes, second homes, and investment properties across the country.

Clients aren't simply buying houses.

They're building portfolios.

They're creating long-term wealth.

They need more than someone who can quote rates; they need a strategic financing partner who understands how investors think, how creative financing works, and how to structure deals that help clients achieve their goals.

We're looking for our Founding Director of Lending, a forward-thinking mortgage professional who wants to help build a lending platform from the ground up. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by creating systems, shaping strategy, and becoming the trusted financing expert behind one of the fastest-growing niches in real estate.

If you've ever thought, "If I could build a lending business the right way..." this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

This isn't a traditional mortgage company with layers of bureaucracy and a rigid corporate playbook.

You'll absolutely originate loans, but your impact will go far beyond production.

You'll help shape the future of the business by creating scalable systems, improving workflows, developing strategic partnerships, and helping define how we serve investors. As we grow, you'll have the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and lead additional Loan Officers, building a lending division that becomes a competitive advantage for the entire organization.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building, solving problems, and creating opportunities where others see obstacles.

When another lender says, "That deal won't work," you're already thinking about what other financing options might.

Compensation:

  • At Plan Earnings: $200,000+

  • Competitive Base Salary

  • Upside Earnings

  • Equity Opportunity

Compensation:

$200,000+ At Plan Earnings

Responsibilities:

As the Founding Director of Lending, you will:

  • Serve as the primary lending advisor for our network of real estate agents and investor clients.

  • Originate residential, second-home, vacation home, and investment property loans.

  • Become the financing expert for short-term rental (STR) investors.

  • Structure creative financing solutions using DSCR, non-QM, bank statement, bridge, portfolio, and conventional lending products.

  • Analyze investment scenarios, cash flow, occupancy projections, debt service coverage, and financing options to help investors make informed decisions.

  • Build trusted relationships with agents, investors, referral partners, and lending institutions.

  • Educate clients and agents on financing strategies that create opportunities, not obstacles.

  • Develop scalable systems, workflows, and operating procedures that support future growth.

  • Partner closely with company leadership to help build and grow the lending division.

  • Recruit, coach, and develop future Loan Officers as the business expands.

Who We're Looking For

The right person is both a high-performing Loan Officer and a business-minded builder.

You likely have several years of successful mortgage origination experience and enjoy solving complex financing challenges. You understand that investor lending is different than traditional residential lending, and you know how to educate clients rather than simply process transactions.

You thrive in environments where you have the freedom to create, improve, and innovate.

You build trust quickly.

You think strategically.

You enjoy wearing multiple hats because you know that's what building something meaningful requires.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license in good standing.

  • Proven mortgage origination success.

  • Strong experience with DSCR and investor-focused lending.

  • Deep understanding of short-term rental financing and investment property analysis.

  • Excellent consultative sales, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with conventional, jumbo, second-home, vacation-home, bridge, portfolio, and non-QM lending products.

  • Experience helping build or scale a lending team, business unit, or startup operation.

  • Existing relationships within the real estate investment community.

This Role Is NOT for You If...
  • You prefer highly structured corporate environments.

  • You need every process already mapped out before taking action.

  • Your experience is limited exclusively to traditional W-2 residential lending.

  • You become frustrated by ambiguity or changing priorities.

  • You're only interested in originating your own loans and have no desire to help build a career.

  • You give up when an investor deal doesn't fit conventional underwriting instead of looking for another solution.

About Company

We're building more than a mortgage company.

We're creating a lending platform specifically designed for today's real estate investor.

Our goal is to become the trusted financing partner that investors, agents, and referral partners rely on to help them build wealth through real estate.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape that vision from day one.

Your ideas will matter.

Your leadership will matter.

The systems you create, the relationships you build, and the team you help develop will become the foundation of our future growth.

If you're looking for another production job, this probably isn't it.

But if you're looking for the opportunity to build something meaningful, solve interesting problems, help investors achieve financial freedom, and create a lasting legacy within a growing company, we'd love to meet you.
