Job description

Position Summary: The Front End Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction is at its highest within our store. The Front End Associate is often the first and last person a customer will have any interaction with during their shopping experience. Front End Associates are responsible for providing fast, friendly, and accurate check out to customers.
Key Responsibilities: (Responsibilities may vary depending on assignment.)
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Operate Point of Sale Equipment.
  • Take responsibility of a cash drawer during the shift.
  • Properly bags groceries and loads them into customers' vehicles carefully and neatly.
  • Stocks shelves and rotate items as necessary.
  • Bring in carts from the parking lot.
  • Maintain a neat and organized till.
  • Fill bag stations and stock registers with needed supplies
  • Pick up trash from the parking lot.
  • Follow security procedures.
  • Performs night maintenance duties as directed.
  • Adhere to company policy and local/state law on the sale of alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Work Environment:
  • May be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, ice and wind) as well as, inside work with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity.
  • Fast paced retail environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently moves, lifts, and carries merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance. Occassioanlly moves, lifts, and carries merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting with or without bearing weight. Occasionally required to climb and/or crawl.
  • Stands or walks continuously throughout the shift.

Qualifications & Other Job Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Minimum age requirement = 16 years old.
