Job description

Position Summary
The Video Monitor Tech provides continuous surveillance of assigned patients through a camera monitoring system and patient/staff communications. The Video Monitor Tech utilizes the monitoring system to work effectively with the health care team to identify patient risks, prevent possible injury, and assure patient safety. Reports to Nurse Manager and Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities
1. Attention to detail
Maintains ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients' behavior and notifies nursing and clinicians of any changes or if the patient requires assistance.
Ability to recognize and act upon changes in patient condition, activity and emergency
situations.
Redirects impulsive and harmful behavior
2. Confidentiality
Adheres to confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, clinicians, employees, and visitors.
3. Skills
Ability to understand, use and document basic medical terminology.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Video Monitoring Software.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Develops a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff and responds to requests from healthcare providers.
Minimum Requirements
High School Degree required.
0 - 2 years in hospital health care experience
Pay Range
$16.00 - $19.90
Other Information
  • 12 hour shift
  • Night Shift 6:45pm - 7:15am
  • 2 Major Holidays and 2 Minor Holidays per year
  • 6 week scheduling - 6 weekend shift requirement: Saturday or Sunday or Both
