Job description

The Heritage Community seeks to hire dedicated employees to work during our graveyard shift. We will hire a candidate who is successful in working independently, while also contributing as a team member for their department. We seek an incumbent who can be alert and attentive to provide a positive, safe milieu for the students in our care.

Schedule:

  • Part Time: Three shifts per week, 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.
  • Full Time: Saturday - Tuesday, 10:00 Pm - 7:00 AM. Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.
  • Full Time: Thursday - Sunday, 10:00 Pm - 7:00 AM. Friday and Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night, and energetic in the morning to assist the students.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.
  • Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of mental health.
  • Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Engaging and empathetic character, with the balance of tenacity and determination.
  • Good problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the students during the night, providing a safe and secure, caregiving environment.
  • Properly use a variety of mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who may wake during the night, and need support and guidance during escalated moments.
  • Wake the students in the morning and supervise them during their initial morning tasks.
  • Assure that all paperwork and documentation requirements are met in an effective manner.
