Job description

As an Electrical and Power System Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our next generation of satellites which will be even larger, more powerful, and more advanced than their predecessors. You will be part of a cross-functional team of talented engineers that owns the full development and operations cycle of the satellite electrical and power systems. The responsibilities of the team span a wide range of activities from requirements specification and architecture development up to post launch data reviews and anomaly investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain unit- and subsystem-level technical requirements.
  • Lead trade studies, architecture development, and interface definition at the unit and subsystem level.
  • Support detailed design activities, including creation and review of schematics, layouts, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Perform electrical and power analyses including power integrity (PI), transient analysis,ย worst-case circuit, derating, voltage drop, and grounding analyses.
  • Perform DC, AC, and transient power integrity analysis (IR drop, impedance targets, load steps, resonances).
  • Optimize decoupling strategies (bulk, ceramic, embedded capacitance) across frequency domains.
  • Define and execute PDN validation plans (impedance measurement, load-step testing, noise analysis)
  • Plan and lead unit- and subsystem-level acceptance and qualification testing, including test plan development, EGSE definition, test execution oversight, and test report generation.
  • Lead failure investigations and support root-cause analysis during testing and operations.
  • Conduct on-orbit data reviews and support anomaly investigation and resolution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with strong academic performance.
  • Familiarity with electrical power system components such as batteries, solar panels, harness, and power control and distribution units.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with satellite power systems and space mission requirements.
  • Familiarity with PDN simulation tools as Keysight PIPro, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys SIwave, SPICE
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team or technical project.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in power systems design and development, with a focus on space or aerospace applications preferred.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Power Electronics.
  • Experience with LEO satellite power systems or similar space missions.ย
