Job Description:

L3Harris is currently seeking an individual to provide onsite support at an overseas customer location. The individual should be able to work independently at a high level with reach-back support available for complex issues that require engineering support. The individual will be responsible for deploying, troubleshooting, operating and training while embedded with the customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Supporting customers onsite with complex communication equipment
  • Support routine and scheduled maintenance on SATCOM terminals, RF equipment, baseband systems, antennas, power systems, and related network components.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and network faults to restore full system functionality.
  • Conduct system health checks, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate with engineering support teams and vendors for escalated issues, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Support DoD projects/programs with preference given to cross domain C4ISR and/or Information Operations experience
  • Integration and application of hardware and software on system/networks
  • Capability to troubleshoot problems at component, system, and network
  • Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.
  • Communicates with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area.
  • May conduct briefings with customers and program leadership
  • Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area.
  • Must be able to provide support OCONUS embedded with customer with reach-back Engineering support as needed
  • Configure, operate, and monitor SATCOM equipment to ensure optimal link performance and availability.
  • Assist in system integration with customer networks, tactical systems, or communications infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate logs of outages, events, configurations, and maintenance actions.
  • Deliver hands-on training to customer personnel on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Serve as the on-site technical subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of the SATCOM system.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including SOPs, maintenance records, configuration baselines, and technical reports.
  • Deploy to customer locations, sometimes in remote or austere environments, based on mission requirements.
  • Manage spare parts, tools, and system components to ensure operational readiness.
  • Support installation, upgrades, integration, and acceptance testing of new system components.
  • Other duties as required by customer and program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with current 5-year update
  • Must have or be able to pass a polygraph.
  • Must have or be able to get Security+ within a year of employment.
  • Experience supporting DoD projects/programs with preference given to cross domain C4ISR and/or Information Operations experience.
  • Physical Requirements: ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to be in-country with OCONUS customer for two years with periodic CONUS morale travel

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Hands-on operational experience with Linux (CentOS/Red Hat) and Windows Server systems software installation, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing.
  • Familiarity or experience with supporting major joint/combatant command software systems.
  • Familiarity or experience with Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and/or Air Operations Centers (AOC).
  • Familiarity or Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, and Docker-Compose).
  • Comfortable working in a command line/non-GUI environment.
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
