Job description

Position Overview:

The SASS Student Assistant provides overall clerical and administrative support to the department, helps create a
welcoming and organized office environment, and assists in the coordination of special events and projects that
enhance student success. This role is essential in ensuring students and staff receive timely and professional
assistance.


Front Desk & Student Support (Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

Greet students and visitors, provide assistance in a professional and friendly manner, and direct them to
appropriate resources/services
Answer phone calls, take accurate messages, transfer calls, and provide correct information about SASS
services
Schedule advising and departmental appointments using appropriate systems
Make copies, scan, and file documents accurately
Maintain and track office supply inventory
Oversee cleanliness and organization of the office, including shared spaces (e.g., front desk, kitchen,
student areas)
Assist with data entry, reports, and record-keeping as requested
Assist in creating and updating department materials (flyers, handouts, digital signage, posters, etc.)
Support coordination of workshops, orientations, and events, including set-up, sign-in, and hospitality
Assist with social media management and website updates under staff guidance
Help monitor departmental email accounts and respond/forward inquiries appropriately
Support staff with light technology troubleshooting (printing, formatting, online forms)
Assist with projects requiring research, organization, and attention to detail


Qualifications:

Must be a currently enrolled student in good academic standing.
Must have a valid driver's license
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Comfortable with using office equipment and basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google
Suite).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in an office or administrative setting is a plus, but not required.


Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position, requiring [insert expected hours/week]. Some flexibility in scheduling may be
necessary based on testing needs.


Wage Range:
