What are sashimi chefs and what do they do?

Sashimi chefs are culinary professionals who specialize in preparing sashimi, a traditional Japanese dish consisting of thinly sliced raw fish or seafood. Their role involves selecting the freshest seafood, skillfully slicing it to enhance flavor and presentation, and often garnishing it with items like wasabi, shiso leaves, or daikon radish. Sashimi chefs must have extensive knowledge of different fish species, knife techniques, and food safety to ensure both delicious taste and safety for diners. Their expertise is crucial in Japanese cuisine, especially in high-end sushi and sashimi restaurants.
