CareSet also works with research arm DocGraph to create, maintain, and improve open healthcare datasets, and in 4Q 2016 released data as part of Vice President Joe Biden's Cancer Moonshot Initiative.
Job Description
Decode 10+ years of Medicare claims for 50 million patients to extract insights about patients, providers and healthcare journeys for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. You will be our in-house statistics expert. You love data, and you love answering questions with data. You are not only able to write clean code, but you understand how to document your methods and approaches to make life easier for the next developer. You also don't just look at numbers and pass them on unexamined. You appreciate that data is only as good as the insights you get from them, and your technical skills help you get to those insights better and faster than anyone else. While numbers are your first language, you also enjoy conversations with people in English.
Outcomes:
  • Standardize SAS Macro library within 3 months
  • Double data output rate by reducing processing time and error rates within 6 months
  • Create process to assess, normalize and standardize our source data within 12 months
  • Train team in SAS within 12 months

Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics or undergraduate degree in Mathematics or Statistics and 7+ years of practical experience
  • Expert SAS and SAS Macro
  • Intermediate PROC SQL
  • Experience working with medical claims data
  • Rapidly takes in and comprehends new information
  • Efficient - Produces well with little unnecessary activity
  • Analytical - Makes sense of data and draws convincing analyses from it
  • Attention to detail - Knows which details matter and stays on top of them
  • Interest in working at and growing with a start up
  • Bonus: STATA, R, Python experience
