Position Summary

We're looking for a software quality engineer with proficient, systematic understanding of software test methodologies to maximize testing efficiency and maintain a high-quality bar. Your core mission will be to develop and execute comprehensive test suites that rigorously validate functional, technical, and regulatory requirements. You'll serve as the direct quality liaison, collaborating with R&D teams to rapidly diagnose and resolve complex issues. Plus, you'll help shape the next generation of engineers by mentoring emerging SQA talent and leading key project coordination efforts.


Essential Job Functions
As a Core Software Quality Engineer, you will own the technical validation of our products from development through deployment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

  • Design and Execute Tests: Develop and execute detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases (manual and automated) based on technical and functional specifications

  • End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of testing for assigned product features, including comprehensive regression, system, integration, and performance testing

  • Defect Analysis and Prevention: Analyze test results to identify the root cause of defects, then propose and implement effective, data-driven solutions to prevent recurrence

  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure products meet all internal quality metrics and external technical and regulatory compliance standards

  • Collaboration and Triage: Serve as the core quality liaison, collaborating daily with Development and Product teams to triage bugs, resolve issues, and ensure rapid resolution

  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Reproduce, troubleshoot, and thoroughly test field-reported and customer-facing bugs in live or simulated environments

  • Hardware/Firmware Validation: Perform necessary testing and validation on integrated hardware and firmware components

  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of test activities, test data, and outcomes, and deliver regular quality reports and risk assessments

  • Influence Development: Serve as a quality representative during development Code Reviews, ensuring testability and compliance are baked into the software architecture

  • Drive Best Practices: Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline SQA methodologies and procedures to enhance testing efficiency, velocity, and overall quality standards

  • Foster Collaboration: Establish strong working relationships with key organizational partners (Development, Product, etc.) to align quality goals and requirements upfront

  • Knowledge Transfer: Guide and train new Associate SQA Engineers on project-specific testing requirements and SQA toolsets.

  • Specialized Assignments: Undertake challenging, ad-hoc projects that require advanced troubleshooting and quality strategy

3-5 years of experience in Software Testing


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrable proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C, C++, or C#) or scripting languages (Python) to facilitate reading code, writing test harnesses, or debugging

  • Working knowledge of a major IDE such as Visual Studio or similar tools used for debugging and code analysis

  • Hands-on experience working within Windows or Unix environments

  • Proficiency with basic data manipulation tools for test data analysis, metrics tracking, and quality reporting

  • Fundamental understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Hands-on experience with test case management and defect tracking tools

  • Experience with any test automation tools is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of the gaming or embedded systems industry

  • Working knowledge of gaming communication protocols (EX: SAS or ASP or G2S or QCOM) is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing project priorities, and maintain focus and quality in a fast-paced, diverse team setting
