Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC office.

Work Schedule

This is a fulltime, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Perform research and evaluation of complex projects and assignments requiring advanced knowledge and experience to identify and measure process methodologies, financial implications, and/or technical applications.
  • Make recommendations to management and may initiate implementation of new protocols, methodologies, and processes. This classification is cross-functional and may be utilized within all business fields including, but not limited to, operations, finance, laboratory, technical, sales and administration.
  • Assist leadership with implementation strategies across stakeholders.
  • Ability to compile and organize data.
  • Produce and present results to business users.
  • Make recommendations based on analysis of data.
  • Read, write and interpret SQL, knowledge of lab system, lab data mart, and QMF.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree.
  • 2 or more years of Financial Analyst experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with Excel pivot tables, lookups, cell formatting, data filters, data sorting, charts, and formulas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience with MS Office Products.
  • 1 or more years of experience with SAS.

  • Critical thinking skills and a basic understanding of how all relative information translates to effects to price, volume and revenue and the ability to communicate impacts related thereto.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as strong reading comprehension skills.
  • Strong Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn to read, edit and interpret SQL.
  • Extract and interrupt data and information from multiple sources (e.g. operations, IT, customer feedback), to produce fully optimum reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to learn SAS programing techniques.
