Position Overview

SAR Contracting specializes in insurance loss and property restoration services. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Water Technician to join our team and assist with the mitigation and restoration of properties affected by water damage.

The Water Technician plays a critical role in responding to water-loss situations by assessing affected areas, performing water extraction, operating specialized drying and restoration equipment, and helping return properties to a safe and stable condition. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in time-sensitive environments.

The successful candidate must be comfortable traveling frequently to client locations and participating in on-call and emergency response shifts to ensure prompt service and minimize additional property damage.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and inspect damage levels, recording moisture meter readings
  • Extract standing water using pumps and vacuums
  • Set up and monitor industrial air movers and dehumidifiers
  • Perform demolition of damaged drywall, flooring, or insulation to aid drying
  • Measure moisture and inspect for further damage
  • Ensure safety compliance during all operations
  • Respond promptly to emergency water damage situations
  • Document damage and remediation efforts for insurance claims
  • Travel frequently to client sites as required

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in tight spaces
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work on-call and emergency after-hours shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in water damage restoration
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
