Their responsibilities include system installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning, as well as collaborating with other IT teams and end-users to ensure smooth operations. SAP Systems Engineers often work closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions using SAP technologies.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP solutions across SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP HANA, SAP Solution Manager, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure.

The SAP BTP Engineer will act as both a technical expert and strategic enabler, translating IT strategy into actionable platform capabilities, socializing BTP services, and identifying opportunities to modernize and automate SAP landscapes. Responsibilities:

  • Recommend, design, and implement SAP BTP services and technologies to support integration, extension, automation, and analytics use cases.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation, standardization, and automation, acting as a positive change agent within the SAP ecosystem.

  • Build, maintain, and optimize the technical infrastructure supporting SAP systems, both onpremise and in the cloud.

  • Perform system changes, migrations, upgrades, patches, and enhancements across a complex SAP landscape including SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Solution Manager.

  • Manage backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery processes.

  • Install, monitor, troubleshoot, and evolve SAP technical environments to ensure stability, performance, and scalability.

  • Generate system health and performance reports and maintain accurate technical documentation.

  • Host and operate SAP systems in Microsoft Azure, including deployment, optimization, and costeffective resource management.

  • Coordinate and partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

  • Partner with external vendors and system integrators to configure and implement SAP solutions.

  • Support audit, governance, and compliance processes, ensuring SAP environments meet internal and external requirements.

  • Translate IT strategies into tactical technical initiatives and executable roadmaps.

  • Lead or contribute to medium to largesized projects, providing technical direction and mentoring as needed.

  • Perform increasingly complex analysis, problem solving, implementation, and documentation activities.

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive or relevant IT experience, including but not limited to SAP Basis administration, SAP HANA database management, SAP BTP and other SAP cloud hosted environments.

  • Advanced SAP domain expertise, particularly in SAP BTP, SAP Basis, and SAP HANA

  • Advanced IT Engineering competencies, including cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform operations

  • Proven experience designing and implementing SAP BTP solutions

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performanceoptimization skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Collaborative mindset with strong vendor and crossteam partnership skills.

  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, landscape design, and system integration

  • Experience with Azure best practices for SAP workloads

  • Relevant SAP certifications (BTP, Basis, HANA, or Cloud) highly valued.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
