POSITION CONCEPT
The SAP Functional Billing and Invoicing Consultant is responsible for translating the Business requirements of the Functional Area in two functional areas which is Billing & Invoicing and FICA or DM performing the duties of systems analysis, design, and development the SAP system via the SAP Configuration IMG (SAP Implementation Guide).  This includes all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, troubleshooting, and SAP provided system and/or legal changes.  An SAP Senior Functional Analyst collaborates on all phases of the systems development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions.  Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, both technical and analytical to enhance value-added business solutions and in keeping with the IT architecture.

The SAP Functional Billing and Invoicing Consultant is under minimal supervision, is responsible for all aspects of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in relation to SAP Configuration activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
1.    Implements software solutions for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources and integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided.
   Hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing, with deep functional expertise across the meter-to-cash lifecycle in the utility industry (Electricity & Gas).
   Expert in configuring and customizing billing master data i.e., billing schemas, rate modelling including complex billing, regulated and de-regulated tariff models.
   Strong knowledge of the end-to-end billing and invoicing process including budget billing, RTP billing, TOU billing, mass batch jobs, exception management, bill simulation, unbilled revenue scenarios and collective billing.
   Working knowledge of SAP ISU Bill Print, including Print Workbench configuration and integration with Smart Forms and Adobe Forms.
   Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including integration with Device Management and FICA.
   Extensive functional and solution experience with the ability to facilitate, design, and develop complex solutions aligned with digital transformation initiatives.
   Strong client-facing skills - ability to serve as a functional liaison between business and IT. Guide stakeholders on best practices.
   Experience in SAP S/4 HANA utilities and Fiori; ability to analyze, debug and troubleshoot OData and web services used in integrations.

2.    Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their Lead SAP Configurator, Manager or Project Managers.  Functions as Technical Lead on projects; may lead multiple concurrent projects.
3.    Subject matter expert in multiple business unit areas, including those relevant to projects and application support assignments.
4.    Considered a subject matter expert in their technical discipline; mentors and guides junior staff.  Develops and drives standard practices within their team; collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications.
5.    Acquires and maintains appropriate technical skills and mentors junior staff.  Participates in developing and driving standard practices within their team.
6.    Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates.  Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; reviews deliverables produced by junior staff.
7.    Liaises with business partners and business unit leads to conduct analysis and design efforts for future enhancements and configuration to meet changing policy and legislative requirements.  
8.    Maintains awareness of current trends in the business marketplace with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.  Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Coordinate system changes by identifying system requirements, definition, testing, training and implementation as well as provide specifications to work management systems, third party remittance, IT, and other areas of the organization.
9.    Participates in business process modeling sessions, while assisting in the collection and consolidation of required information and data in the development of analysis documentation in accordance with the SDLC methodology.  Supports the creation of business process procedures for assigned business unit(s).
10.    Develops strong business and system knowledge relating to functional areas and assigned business unit(s).  Supports the maintenance and evolution of the logical data model and business process model for assigned business unit(s).  Provides input and direction on business unit technology strategies.
11.    Provide training and guidance and oversee work of staff/AMS contractors to ensure quality results.
12.    Development, growth, and mentoring of SAP Configurators.
13.    Should be able to perform budget, forecast, and calculate the actuals for project and maintain financials.

Direct Supervision:    Provides no Direct Supervision but may be assigned a leadership role that could include overseeing junior and/or contract resources in absence of a manager or a lead.
Indirect Supervision:    None

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Required:    Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline
Preferred:    Master's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline.  

Licenses/Certifications 
Preferred:    An SAP professional configuration certification in a specific discipline (e.g., CRM, DM, Billing/Invoicing, FICA) in addition to the requirements above.

EXPERIENCE

Direct Experience
Required:    Eight (8) years of SAP configuration experience performing the duties of systems analysis, design, and development and Ten (10) years of SAP configuration experience in two functional areas which are Billing & Invoicing and FICA or DM performing the duties of systems analysis, design, and development

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
Required:    
   Strong knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies.  Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; suggests and leads application of new technologies.
   Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.  Frequently presents information to their team, department, and business areas.
   Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines.  Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects and assists Manager with resource management.
   Creates and reviews technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.  
   Proficient in the agile methodologies and If needed should be able to perform the role of scrum master.
   Need to have working knowledge with AMS such as review and approve the deliverables from the AMS and facilitate meetings between AMS and Business through regular periodic calls as needed.

Preferred:    Drives continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, application support, and technology architecture.
