Job description

Job Overview: 

This role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, leading the month-end close process, maintaining the accuracy of financial records, and serving as the primary finance resource for SAP-related accounting transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience working in an SAP ERP environment, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Finance Support

  • Serve as the primary finance user for SAP-related accounting transactions.
  • Process and review financial transactions within SAP.
  • Support users with SAP finance processes and troubleshoot day-to-day transaction issues.
  • Monitor financial postings to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with external SAP consultants on system issues, enhancements, and configuration changes when necessary.
  • Assist in testing SAP enhancements and process improvements.

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and recurring accounting entries.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Support Internal and External Audit processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and Project Management to resolve accounting and SAP-related issues.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, manufacturing cost analysis, and transaction accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • 3-7 years of Strong hands-on experience using SAP (ECC or S/4HANA), preferably with FI/CO and MM integration.
  • Experience leading or actively participating in month-end close.
  • Good understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Cost Accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and standard costing.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or process improvements.
  • Exposure to internal controls and audit processes.
  • CPA or CPA candidate
