Job Title:Sr. Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Analyst
Reports to:Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting


Location: Los Angeles (Remote), or Goleta, CA (Hybrid) - Typically 3 times per week in office, Tuesday - Thursday.

The Role

As a Senior Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Analyst, you'll be a key member of our Global Accounting Services team. You'll drive technical accounting research, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and occasionally IFRS or local statutory GAAP. You'll support the implementation of new accounting standards, administer SEC filings, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to enhance financial reporting processes. This hybrid role requires strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, and periodic overtime to meet deadlines.

Your Impact

  • Conduct research and analysis of new and revised accounting standards and technical accounting implications for business transactions
  • Prepare technical accounting documentation and support for key areas such as stock compensation, hedging, segment reporting, leases, and asset impairments
  • Monitor peer SEC disclosures, comment letters, and industry trends, making recommendations for company response
  • Maintain and update the global accounting policy manual for changes in elections or standards
  • Lead preparation and administration of global SEC reporting, including financial reporting calendar, Forms 10-K/Q, Form 8-K Earnings Releases, and contribute to annual Proxy and 401(k) benefit plan processes
  • Lead quarterly reporting deliverables, including with other teams, ensuring compliance with retention policies and reconciliation controls
  • Perform key financial reporting controls, including disclosure checklists, certifications, and tie-out procedures
  • Prepare quarterly core financial statements, including the cash flow statement, and conduct XBRL taxonomy tagging reviews
  • Draft disclosures for new and revised accounting standards and significant business transactions
  • Conduct financial statement variance analyses and propose accounting or disclosure suggestions
  • Support external and internal audit requirements, including SOX and audit sample requests
  • Assist with process enhancements using tools like Workiva and Hyperion, and support training of global business partners on these tools as on accounting standards
  • Support ad-hoc finance projects and maintain confidentiality and integrity

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (master's degree and active CPA license are a plus)
  • Bring 3 years of public accounting experience at nationally recognized public accounting firm, "Big 4" firm is a plus
  • Experience in accounting, financial statement preparation, review, and analysis, and/or technical accounting compliance and research under SEC, US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX regulations
  • Experience with global public companies with $2B+ in annual revenues is a plus
  • Experience with Hyperion/Oracle, SAP BPC, OneStream, or similar ERP systems, and Microsoft applications
  • Skilled in financial reporting tools (e.g., Workiva), leveraging automation and linking features, is a plus
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely results under tight deadlines
  • Experience with task management tools (e.g., Monday.com) is a plus
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and provide timely key takeaway summaries
  • Collaborate across teams to align processes and enhance efficiency
  • Show strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
