Position Summary
The Photography program at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria is seeking applications to build a qualified part-time faculty pool for potential vacancies. Positions are available as needed for the upcoming academic year.
Responsibilities and duties may include teaching one or more subjects in the Photography program, including History of Photography, Basic Photography, Materials and Processes, Color Photography, Commercial Photography, Portrait Photography, Digital Photography, and Drone Photography. Successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND to effectively provide instruction to community college students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
Essential Functions and Qualifications
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
  • Teach all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off-campus classes.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Master's in Photography, fine arts, or art, OR;
  • Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in art history or humanities, OR;
  • Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements as defined above must also complete and attach an Equivalency Petition to be considered.

SALARY:
โ€ข Lecture Rate: $56.46 to $86.44 per hour, depending upon education and experience
โ€ข Lab Rate: $49.17 to $75.26 per hour, depending upon education and experience
โ€ข Activity Rate: $36.33 to $56.69 per hour, depending upon education and experience
