Creamery Cheese Production Staff
Location: Sanilac Creamery in Ann Arbor, MI
Status: Full-Time or Part-Time (20-40 hours/week)
Compensation: Starting at $15.50/hour, depending on experience
About Sanilac Creamery
Sanilac Creamery is a Michigan-based artisan dairy specializing in small-batch cheeses and gelato made with milk sourced from local family farms. We believe exceptional cheese begins with exceptional relationships - from our farmers to our guests. As we grow, we're looking for curious, enthusiastic team members to help us share the craft of handmade dairy with our community.
Position Overview
Sanilac Creamery is seeking energetic, detail-oriented team members to join our cheese and gelato production crew. This hands-on role involves working in a fast-paced, food-safe environment to help craft our signature dairy products. Shifts are typically 8 hours and include at least one weekend day and some holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Operate a 140-quart Hobart mixer to prepare cheese spreads and related products
  • Wash, sanitize, and set up equipment and work spaces for production
  • Perform daily cheese making tasks including ladling, molding, washing, bagging, and flipping
  • Label, store, and track products in freezers and coolers
  • Maintain accurate batch and inventory records
  • Follow all SOPs, HACCP protocols, and food safety standards
  • Keep work spaces clean, safe, and sanitary
  • Collaborate with other departments and participate in team huddles and events

Qualifications
  • Interest in food production and working with dairy
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Comfortable working as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Food safety certification is a plus but not required
