Job description

Sandcastle Condominiums is seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager to help oversee the daily operations of a condominium resort with a 24-hour front desk and an in-house vacation rental program.

Working closely with the General Manager, this position will focus on rental operations and revenue, staffing, guest service, and property-wide operations. The ideal candidate is an experienced supervisor who is comfortable leading employees, resolving operational issues, monitoring performance, and stepping in wherever needed.

This is an active management position, not a desk-only role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation and growth of the in-house vacation rental program.
  • Monitor occupancy, rates, booking pace, rental revenue, unit availability, and overall performance.
  • Work with reservations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and marketing to improve the guest experience and rental results.
  • Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supervising employees.
  • Help ensure adequate staffing for a resort operating 24 hours a day.
  • Address employee performance concerns and reinforce operating standards.
  • Provide management coverage when the General Manager is unavailable.
  • Conduct property inspections and follow up on maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operational concerns.
  • Assist with escalated guest complaints and owner concerns.
  • Help coordinate vendors, projects, purchasing, inventory, and expense controls.
  • Respond to significant after-hours issues and property emergencies as needed.
  • Review operational and financial reports and provide updates to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Hospitality, resort, vacation rental, lodging, or property management experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees and coordinating multiple departments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure assignments are completed.
  • Comfortable reviewing rental performance, labor costs, expenses, and operating reports.
  • Professional and confident when working with guests, condominium owners, employees, and vendors.
  • Ability to learn property management, reservation, and operating systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Schedule

Sandcastle Condominiums operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a full-time, on-site management position.

Schedule flexibility is required, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to critical after-hours operational issues.

Sandcastle Condominiums provides an employer-sponsored benefits package that includes:

The employer pays nearly 100% of the insurance premiums. Employees are responsible for only a 5% contribution toward the health insurance premium.

Paid Vacation - 1 week (40 hours ) provided after first year employment, then 2 weeks (80 hours) each year after that.
