Job description

Precision Manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Industrial Sandblaster:

Qualifications: Industrial Sandblaster:
  • The ideal candidate has at least one year of Industrial sandblasting experience, but we are willing to train a motivated individual with the right attitude and work ethic
  • Requires demonstrated skills in paint, blasting and related chemistry, heavy rigging, material handling, surface preparation and specification compliance

Responsibilities: Industrial Sandblaster:
  • Perform sandblasting on industrial parts and surfaces according to specifications
  • Set up and operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Handle and operate high-pressure hoses safely
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the blasting area
  • Assist in other areas of the facility as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment
  • Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from metal surfaces
  • Maintain blast equipment such as helmet and hoses
  • Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment
  • Organize and arrange skids of material for blasting
  • Load and unload booth with forklift
  • Operate spray-painting and blasting equipment to safely apply protective coatings to manufactured components
  • Prepare surfaces to be coated by using various methods (abrasive blasting, high pressure water washing or power wire brushing) to remove grease, dirt, rust and other surface contaminants
  • Stage and monitor fume extractors, drying fans, heaters and evaluate environmental and product surface temperatures
  • Safely mix and apply all required chemicals, coatings and epoxy to meet customer specifications
  • Spray coatings (such as primer, paint, lacquer, enamel, and metallic solutions) onto manufactured products to achieve specified surface finishes
  • Safely move items to staging or drying areas, unload, position or stack them for further application or packaging
  • Read, interpret and apply OEM instructions, drawings and work order instructions for proper application and mixtures
  • Touch up defective areas of surface and painted components
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and related equipment
