Job description

Salary: $20-$26/hr DOE

Triverus is currently seeking a qualified industrial sandblaster for its production facility in Palmer, Alaska. This position ensures surfaces are perfectly prepared for finished coatingsremoving rust, paint, scale, and imperfections. Responsibilities

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or prepare metal surfaces for finishing.
  • Select and load appropriate abrasive media (e.g., steel grit, glass bead, aluminum oxide) based on project requirements.
  • Mask and protect areas not to be blasted, ensuring precision and preventing damage.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot blasting equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use, ventilation requirements, and material handling.
  • Collaborate with coaters, fabricators and production staff to ensure seamless project flow.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 Year experience as a sandblaster or in a similar industrial surface preparation role.
  • Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment, and media types.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in protective gear for extended periods.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work orders, and safety instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED
