Job description

For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Field Industrial Sandblaster & Repair Foreman will lead, organize, and direct the field crew. The crew is responsible to sandblast and paint existing elevated water towers using rigging, blast pots, and paint pumps. The Foreman will be responsible for training in the use of all safety equipment/procedures used by Maguire.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure that all work is performed with SAFETY as the number one priority.
  • Ensure performance/safety rigging is installed correctly and checked before each use.
  • Proficient in the use of all safety, sandblasting, painting and rigging equipment.
  • Train new employees on proper rigging, safety, and equipment use.
  • Ability to correctly interpret specifications/drawings/Maguire prints and communicate print information to others and communicate print discrepancies back to project managers.
  • Strong time management skills to lead the team to complete work on time.
  • Motivates, maintains, and encourages others to work safely, productive, and quality conscious.
  • Keep job sites clean.
  • Maintain all equipment/service equipment when needed.
  • Complete daily production paperwork and review crew's timecards.
  • Lead weekly safety toolbox meetings.
  • Present and gather customer sign-off on required documentation.
  • Offer recommendations/improvements on rigging, safety, painting and sandblasting equipment and practice.
  • Lead in-person customer interactions while performing field work.
  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Five years of sandblasting and painting experience. One year of foreman/supervisor experience.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for own actions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Extensive travel required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Work Environment:
  • Ability to climb to heights of 200 feet on a daily basis.
  • Majority of the time is spent in the field and will work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold.
  • Frequently required to sit, squat, talk and hear.
  • Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.
  • Adhere to Maguire's PPE Policy and Safety Programs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
