Position Summary

Under the authority of the Quality Assurance Coordinator , the incumbent is responsible for coordinating all daily quality control activities . This role also involves recommending and approving changes to ensure regulatory and program compliance.

 

Position Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Know, comply with, and actively promote occupational health and safety rules ; intervene respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, visitors, or any other individual in the event of non-compliance;
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with all employees, contractors, visitors, stakeholders, and clients of Vergers Leahy Inc. ;
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on internal, external, and certification audits ;
  • Document, review, and continuously improve quality and food safety programs and plans , and ensure their effectiveness;
  • Reassess, validate, verify, and keep up to date quality documentation , including HACCP, SQF , and other certifications (including organic, kosher, and natural health products );
  • Prepare and lead internal and external audits , including follow-ups (Corrective Action Requests or related non-conformities);
  • Monitor and follow up on internal and external corrective action requests and non-conformities within prescribed timelines, and issue action plans to prevent recurrence;
  • Supervise pest control management activities and ensure proper follow-up;
  • Carry out sampling as outlined in the environmental monitoring program (finished products, raw materials, water, surfaces, etc.), coordinate sample shipments, and analyze results to verify compliance;
  • In cases of non-conformity or unsatisfactory situations , conduct risk analyses (food safety and quality), implement corrective actions, and document according to required standards;
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with short- and long-term regulatory requirements .
