Geotech - Laborer
Pay Rate: $30 - $32

Geotemps, Inc. is currently searching Geotech – Laborer which is primary responsibility will include collection and lab submittal of all exploration drilled hole samples. Maintain tracking spreadsheets for samples and assays. Organize and store all drill samples. Pick up and move drill core. Minor testing and documentation with core and pulp samples. Assist geologists with their day to day tasks and data entry. This position will require excellent organization, and communication skills.

Requirements:
  • Work Safely
  • Collect, transport and deliver all drill and metallurgical samples to the assay and MET labs.
  • Submit and maintain all paperwork associated with sample submittals.
  • Assist geologist with field work. (Ex. digging drill cones, marking stakes, be a spotter for high wall mapping)
  • Enter data into tracking spreadsheets for drill samples and assay data. Enter geologic data for geologists.
  • Collect all pulp samples from the lab, sift into chip trays, and organize in storage.
  • Perform testing on core and pulp samples and enter data into spreadsheet (on the job training will be provided for this).
  • Collect core from drill rigs during drill programs.
  • Minor computer skills are needed. Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
  • Organize paperwork and large amounts of samples.
  • Work well with others and be able to interact with several different departments on the site.
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and be able to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in heavy manual labor.
  • Physical capabilities of routinely bending, stooping, walking on uneven ground. Ability to lift 75 pounds to waist high repeatedly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally
  • Comfortable working within the mine operations and be available for working overtime on short notice.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to proficiently and safely operate light vehicles and construction equipment (4-wheel-drive preferred, 1-ton flatbed truck, backhoe, and or forklift)
  • Survey experience (helpful but not required)
  • Able to bend, lift, stand, crawl, crouch, lie down, kneel, and reach for long periods of time
  • Working in extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, hot and cold climates, wet and unstable grounds, highly humid, or highly dry areas
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and criminal background.
