What You Will Do as a Sample Maker: Under guidance from the Pattern Services Manager, this position is responsible for the execution of prototype garments produced in the sample department. This includes monitoring both the quality and scheduled completion dates which are critical to meet merchandising expectations.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Responsible for constructing sample garments.
  • Receives tech packs and identifies trim and findings.
  • Cuts and assembles sample quality garments according to specified requirements provided.
  • Reviews garments for general appearance and deviations.
  • Report completion of garment to sample coordinator.
  • Assists with normal machine maintenance and/or request additional maintenance from mechanics.

Skills for Success:

  • High School diploma
  • Production sewing experience with an overall understanding of industrial sewing machines
  • Extensive knowledge of product development standards
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Requires interpretation of written specifications
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees
  • Requires a general understanding of available product features offered
  • Sewing experience in a variety of styles and constructions
  • Must be adaptable to changes in both internal and external customer demands and expectations.
  • Requires physical sewing and cutting responsibilities that require sitting or standing for extended periods of time
