The Role:

We are seeking a Logistics Technician 1 to join our Methocel production facility. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently handling, packaging, and moving materials while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and operational procedures.

The Logistics Technician 1 plays a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting production flow, and collaborating across shifts to ensure seamless operations.

This position is located in Midland, MI

Compensation:

The current hourly rate for this role is $19.59 per hour. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

Successfully complete required qualification exams (oral, written, and/or field-based) covering equipment, processes, and technical concepts

Package finished products into drums, bags, and supersacks

Safely lift up to 50 lbs. and navigate stairs regularly

Collect product samples and deliver to appropriate locations

Follow GMP, SOPs, and FDA requirements at all times

Perform quality control checks and tests

Operate and maintain packaging and material handling equipment (e.g., Hi-Vac, compactors, balers)

Set up packaging lines and prepare materials for shipment

Move and stage raw materials and finished goods

Load and unload pallets and containers

Inspect equipment (e.g., jeeps) and ensure readiness for operation

Print and apply labels, ensuring accurate product identification

Maintain accurate documentation, including logbooks and lot data sheets

Identify and document hazards; participate in safety observations and meetings

Support housekeeping standards in packaging and work areas

Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting (mechanical and system-related)

Change screens, filters, and dust collector bags as needed

Monitor quality of packaging materials and supplies

Communicate effectively with team leads, plant personnel, and other shifts

Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of operations

Contribute to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and process optimization

Assist with training and onboarding of new employees

Participate in plant teams and initiatives as required
