Job Title: Pathologists Assistant (2nd shift 1PM -9:30PM)

Nashville, TN

Job Description:

  • Perform macroscopic examination, dissection, and description of surgical specimens under the supervision of a Pathologist.
  • Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by the Pathologist.
  • Assist in autopsies by eviscerating the body, dissecting organs, and collecting samples for further analysis.
  • Accurately document findings and maintain detailed records of procedures performed.
  • Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials according to safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment and assist with maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Adhere to all relevant protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field.
  • Completion of a Pathologists' Assistant program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
  • ASCP certification as a Pathologists' Assistant.
  • Prior experience working in a pathology laboratory setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work the 2nd shift from 1PM to 9:30PM.
