Job Overview: Under the direction of the kitchen manager, the prep staff is responsible for preparing all food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed and provide cooks with needed items.
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, and fruits).
  • Packaging of fruits, vegetables, and salsas.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow Kitchen Supervisor instructions
  • Clean up and maintain cooking stations.
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
