Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications and services globally.

 

The Salesforce Technical Lead leads production support operations, security governance, incident management, deployment, and operational stability for Salesforce platforms and integrated enterprise applications. This role ensures high system availability, secure operations, compliance adherence, and efficient resolution of production issues while driving continuous operational improvement.

The role provides technical leadership across Salesforce applications, integrations, cloud services, middleware platforms, and enterprise support processes, partnering closely with business stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, and development organizations.

 

Responsibilities

 

Production Support & Operations

  • Lead day-to-day Salesforce production support activities across enterprise environments.
  • Ensure platform availability, operational stability, and SLA compliance.
  • Manage incident response, escalation handling, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate major incidents, bridge calls, and stakeholder communications.
  • Monitor production systems, integrations, interfaces, and batch processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex applications, integration, and data issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support on-call operations and critical production support activities.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement initiatives to reduce recurring incidents.

 Salesforce Platform Support

 Provide operational support for: 

  • Service Cloud

  • Apex jobs and scheduled batch processes
  • Salesforce Flows and automation
  • User provisioning and security administration
  • Data management and migration activities

Responsibilities include:

  • Log analysis and troubleshooting
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Data correction and validation
  • Production defect resolution
  • Environmental support and coordination

Integration & Middleware Support

  • Support enterprise integration between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot APIs, middleware, and cloud integrations.
  • Resolve interface failures, synchronization issues, and data inconsistencies.
  • Coordinate with integration, infrastructure, and vendor teams.
  • Support MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, AWS services, ETL processes, and event-driven integrations.
  • Analyze integration logs, payloads, and transaction failures.

Security & Compliance

  • Manage Salesforce security administration, including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, and field-level security.
  • Support identity and access management (IAM), MFA, SSO, OAuth, and SAML integrations.
  • Monitor and investigate security incidents, suspicious activities, and unauthorized access.
  • Review audit logs and support cybersecurity operations activities.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and security risk mitigation activities.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, compliance, and audit teams.
  • Support secure API, middleware, and cloud integration practices.
  • Manage certificate renewals, secret management, and authentication configurations.
  • Enforce change management and segregation of duties controls.
  • Participate in security reviews, CAB meetings, and operational governance processes.

Release & Change Management

  • Coordinate production deployments and release activities.
  • Validate release readiness and post-deployment stability.
  • Support rollback planning and deployment issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with change management procedures and operational controls.
  • Review production changes for security and operational impact.

Monitoring & Operational Excellence

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.
  • Track system health, operational KPIs, and incident trends.
  • Improve support processes, automation, and operational documentation.
  • Maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Drive process standardization and operational best practices.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor support analysts, administrators, and technical teams.
  • Coordinate offshore and cross-functional support teams.
  • Review ticket quality, operational processes, and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
  • Provide technical guidance and operational leadership during critical incidents and production events.

Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ET (Flexible). This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, for periodic maintenance and troubleshooting. 

Work Location: This position is hybrid with remote work and one day per week in the office in Sterling, VA, or Washington, DC. The number of days in office is subject to change based on program or government requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Requires US Citizenship and an active SECRET government security clearance with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • 8+ years of enterprise application support and IT experience.
  • 5+ years of Salesforce administration, support, or technical leadership experience.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise production environments and deployments.
  • Experience on SailPoint and SNOW.
  • Experience with Salesforce platform operations, integrations, and security administration.
  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and operational governance.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, middleware, and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience working in Agile and ITIL-based operational environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with teams of people of varying skill level.

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
