Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Run the intake and prioritization process end to end, from origination through the business to triage, validation and passage through the required gates.
  • Maintain a single prioritized backlog across the Salesforce portfolio, with clear rationale for sequence visible to the stakeholders who raised the work.
  • Run the business prioritization forum, bringing capacity, effort and value evidence to support defensible decisions on what the team works on and when.
  • Provide challenge and process discipline while ensuring prioritization decisions rest with the business.
  • Plan and sequence releases against known team capacity, flagging conflicts before they become slippage.
  • Manage dependencies across business functions, integrations, technical teams and third parties.
  • Own delivery ceremonies, forecasting and status reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Coordinate testing cycles and own formal acceptance and sign-off, confirming that delivered work meets what was agreed and that adoption follows.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the business and the applications team, coaching stakeholders to frame demand clearly.
  • Communicate trade-offs, sequencing decisions, risks and changes transparently and early.
  • Build stakeholder confidence by establishing a track record of commitments met and providing clear rationale where work is deferred or declined.
  • Develop a deep working understanding of how Salesforce supports sales, service, marketing, customer engagement and related business processes at Altus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product ownership, delivery management or a similar role, with meaningful time spent working on Salesforce.
  • Experience owning a prioritized backlog across competing business stakeholders where demand consistently exceeds capacity.
  • Delivery experience on enterprise business platforms, including planning and sequencing releases against finite team capacity, managing dependencies and maintaining reliable forecasts.
  • Experience translating business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria and owning acceptance through to sign-off.
  • Experience coordinating testing cycles and formal business sign-off.
  • Salesforce certification is desirable.
  • Exposure to Sales, Service, Marketing, CPQ or quote-to-cash processes is desirable.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce as a business platform, including how organizations use it across functions, what it does well and where it constrains them.
  • Strong product ownership and backlog management skills, including intake, prioritization, sprint planning, delivery planning and release coordination.
  • Ability to run prioritization forums with senior stakeholders present, including declining or deferring requests with a clear rationale.
  • Strong delivery discipline, including dependency management, forecasting, status reporting, risk escalation and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to balance demand and capacity, make trade-offs visible, and hold a clear rationale under pressure.
  • Experience with backlog and delivery tooling; Azure DevOps experience is preferred, though experience with other tools is acceptable.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to build stakeholder relationships in a remote environment.
  • Comfort acting as the face of the applications team to the business and building trusted working relationships across functions.
