What is a Salesforce Platform Developer?

Salesforce Platform Developers are professionals who design, build, and implement custom applications on the Salesforce platform using tools like Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs. They work to extend Salesforce’s core functionalities, integrate with other systems, and automate business processes to meet an organization’s unique needs. Their expertise ensures that companies can leverage Salesforce’s full potential for customer relationship management and workflow optimization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce Platform Developer?

To thrive as a Salesforce Platform Developer, you need expertise in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and a solid understanding of Salesforce CRM functionality, often supported by a relevant degree and Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I or II. Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce DX, version control systems like Git, and integration platforms is typically required.
