Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Director of Commercial Sales Training (ADHD) will lead the design, development, and execution of innovative training programs tailored for our ADHD sales force responsible for promoting JORNAY PM and AZSTARYS. This role combines strategic leadership, instructional design expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to empower the sales team with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to drive commercial success. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating inclusive learning experiences that accommodate diverse learning styles, ensuring high engagement, retention, and performance in a complex and regulated environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Develop and implement a commercial training strategy aligned with business goals and tailored to support the ADHD sales force, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Compliance, and HR to ensure alignment with brand strategies, customer needs, and field realities. 
  • Serve as a thought leader in adult learning and performance enablement within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. 
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging training content, including onboarding, disease-state education, product knowledge, selling skills, and leadership development.  
  • Design and implement advanced sales training curricula that build sophisticated selling skills, negotiation tactics, and strategic account management capabilities to elevate salesforce effectiveness. 
  • Provides leadership and support for sales meeting engagements throughout the year, which includes agenda and training content development and design. 
  • Develop and deliver leadership development programs in partnership with HR to nurture high-potential sales talent, enhance frontline manager capabilities, and support succession planning within the Commercial organization. 
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with sales leadership at all levels to regularly seek feedback and foster collaboration. 
  • Establish frameworks and tools for ongoing coaching and performance feedback to reinforce skill application and drive continuous growth at both the individual and team levels. 
  • Ensure training materials reflect scientific rigor and comply with regulatory and compliance standards. 
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Commercial Training team, including internal talent and external partners, while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development aligned with organizational priorities. 
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of learner-centric, accessible training programs for the ADHD sales force, incorporating diverse learning modalities to reinforce key concepts and enhance skill application and retention. 
  • Establish and monitor robust metrics to assess competency development and skill progression, including knowledge retention, skill application, behavior change, and business impact.  
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize training programs and drive field performance 
  • Identify, evaluate, and adopt existing and emerging learning technologies, such as AI, to enhance skill acquisition, practice, reinforcement, and measurement.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in training and pharmaceutical sales, including at least 3 years in pharmaceutical sales and a minimum of 3 years in leadership or management roles.
  • Ability to conduct in-person training classes and regular field rides (minimum of 25% travel required).
  • Experience in CNS, ADHD, psychiatry, neurology, or related specialty categories strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on experience designing and delivering dynamic training programs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to measure training effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly.
  • Familiarity with the promotional review process for training materials and the ability to communicate and train on complex medical topics.
