Job Title: Salesforce Technical Architect
Location: Morristown, NJ (Onsite)
Job Summary
Client is seeking a highly experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of strategic customer-facing solutions built on Salesforce Experience Cloud. This role will drive the technical vision and execution of a large-scale customer payments initiative integrating Salesforce with ERP systems, payment gateways, middleware platforms, and enterprise services.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect who can independently engage business and technical stakeholders, facilitate workshops, define architecture, build proof-of-concepts, and provide technical leadership across architects, senior developers, and integration teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end architecture for Salesforce Experience Cloud and enterprise integrations.
  • Define scalable, secure, high-performing solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and implementation planning.
  • Establish integration, security, and data architecture patterns.
  • Provide technical leadership to architects, technical leads, developers, and vendor teams.
  • Drive design decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Design and implement customer-facing payment capabilities within Salesforce Experience Cloud.
  • Architect integrations with payment gateways, processors, and ERP platforms.
  • Define solutions supporting invoice payments, payment status tracking, transaction history, ACH and credit card processing, and customer self-service capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with PCI-compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend payment architecture approaches, including API-based and hosted payment experiences.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Salesforce and:
    • NetSuite
    • PeopleSoft
    • AWS Services
    • Middleware/Data Hub platforms
    • Third-party payment providers
    • Enterprise APIs
  • Establish API governance, authentication, security, and monitoring standards.
  • Lead integration design for real-time and batch synchronization requirements.
  • Lead architecture workshops and requirement discovery sessions.
  • Partner directly with business, finance, billing, customer service, and IT leadership teams.
  • Translate business objectives into technical solutions.
  • Independently manage discussions with executive and senior stakeholders.
  • Present architecture options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
  • Build and lead technical proof-of-concepts to validate architecture decisions.
  • Evaluate third-party technologies and platform capabilities.
  • Drive solution innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify architecture and reduce implementation risk.
