In this role, you will...

Drive the development, maintenance, and ongoing refinement of Salesforce architecture standards, solution patterns, technical design principles, and technical roadmaps across Salesforce applications, data models, integrations, security, automation, and development practices. Partner with business, technology, security, data, operations, and delivery leaders to align Salesforce architecture recommendations with business objectives, lending and loan origination workflows, regulatory expectations, enterprise technology standards, and long-term platform needs.

Serve as a Salesforce subject matter expert and trusted advisor, providing architecture guidance, evaluating Salesforce platform capabilities and emerging features, and shaping secure, scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable Salesforce solutions. Work through influence, matrixed collaboration, and design governance to promote alignment, consistency, quality, and informed decision-making across Salesforce delivery teams, integration teams, business stakeholders, and implementation partners.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions across Financial Services Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and other Salesforce platform capabilities.
  • Translate approved business requirements and user stories into scalable technical architectures, with a focus on financial services, lending, loan origination workflows, and enterprise CRM capabilities.
  • Deliver technical and non-technical architecture documentation for assigned initiatives, including data models, high-level architecture diagrams, integration architecture diagrams, security design documentation, and technical decision records.
  • Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to align business processes with technical designs, ensuring solutions support the intended operating model and business outcomes.
  • Define and document Salesforce data models, integration patterns, security design considerations, automation patterns, and platform configuration standards.
  • Lead Salesforce solution design for system integrations (APIs, middleware, external systems) in partnership with MuleSoft development teams, enterprise integration teams, and external partners, including integrations with loan origination systems, credit decisioning platforms, and third-party financial services platforms.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Data Architects, and other domain architects to develop solution designs that are consistent with enterprise architecture principles, data strategy, integration standards, and technology roadmaps.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and design governance processes to support cross-platform alignment and architectural consistency.
  • Contribute to and enforce Salesforce architecture standards, development best practices, design patterns, and governance processes within the Salesforce delivery function.
  • Provide technical leadership, solution guidance, and architecture oversight to developers, administrators, analysts, and partner resources across onshore and offshore teams to ensure adherence to approved solution designs, quality expectations, platform standards, and delivery objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews and solution design reviews to ensure adherence to Salesforce platform limits, performance expectations, security standards, and maintainability requirements.
  • Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and delivery teams during backlog refinement, technical story decomposition, sprint planning, and release planning to ensure work is technically sound and appropriately scoped.
  • Evaluate solution options and clearly communicate tradeoffs related to scalability, maintainability, platform limits, technical debt, cost, implementation complexity, delivery timelines, security, and user experience.
  • Provide architecture guidance to Salesforce Administrators and Developers to ensure configuration, automation, and custom development align with approved solution designs and platform standards.
  • Support architecture-level root cause analysis and remediation planning for complex Salesforce platform or integration issues.
  • Identify technical debt, platform risks, and architectural improvement opportunities; recommend practical remediation plans in partnership with CRM leadership and technology stakeholders.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases, emerging capabilities, and architecture best practices, and assess their impact on Salesforce solution design and platform standards.
  • Support vendor and implementation partner design reviews to ensure recommendations align with Mariner standards, approved architecture, and long-term platform sustainability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or related field; additional applicable experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of Salesforce platform experience, including Salesforce implementation, architecture, configuration, development, integration, or platform delivery.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience acting as a Salesforce Architecture Lead, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar senior Salesforce technical role.
  • Expertise in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and core Salesforce platform capabilities.
  • Experience designing Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or other Salesforce ecosystem products.
  • Proven experience in Salesforce solution architecture and large-scale Salesforce implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, security model, sharing architecture, automation, platform limits, performance considerations, and release impacts.
  • Strong knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Salesforce APIs, and Salesforce development practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, middleware, ETL tools, MuleSoft, or comparable enterprise integration platforms.
  • Experience working within a federated architecture model, partnering with Enterprise Architects, Data Architects, Security Architects, and delivery teams to develop integrated technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Salesforce or enterprise technology solutions in financial services, consumer lending, banking, or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience providing technical direction to distributed onshore/offshore development teams.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models, including backlog refinement, technical story decomposition, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Salesforce technical designs.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance technical constraints, delivery timelines, business needs, security expectations, and long-term platform sustainability.
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with loan origination systems, credit decisioning platforms, customer servicing systems, data platforms, or third-party financial services providers.
  • Experience designing Salesforce integrations with loan origination systems, credit decisioning platforms, customer servicing systems, data platforms, or third-party financial services providers.
  • Experience with MuleSoft or comparable enterprise integration platforms.
  • Experience with Jira and Bitbucket to support development lifecycle management, collaboration, and delivery tracking.

  • Experience in multi-org or enterprise-scale Salesforce environments.
