Sales Representative

Status: Full-Time
Location: Winnipeg, Brandon, and surrounding areas (must be based in the Winnipeg region)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manitoba Sales Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales and market share of the Charton Hobbs portfolio within the assigned territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with retail and on-premise customers while executing sales strategies and brand initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Retail

  • Drive sales of the Charton Hobbs portfolio across assigned accounts
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets and KPIs
  • Expand distribution with a focus on priority and core brands
  • Maximize in-store execution, including shelf positioning, cold box placement, and displays
  • Present and execute quarterly programming with retail partners and product consultants
  • Develop and maintain an 8-week route plan to ensure efficient territory coverage


On-Premise (Restaurants & Bars)

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts
  • Identify and secure new listings, features, and by-the-glass opportunities
  • Support accounts with product knowledge, staff training, and menu development


Administrative & General

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of activities, account information, and opportunities in XRM
  • Manage budgets and expenses in accordance with company guidelines
  • Participate in trade shows, supplier events, and customer activations as required
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends


Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience, preferably within the beverage alcohol industry
  • Experience in retail or restaurant environments is considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in business, sales, or marketing is preferred


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management and planning abilities


Industry Knowledge & Certifications

  • Passion for wine and spirits with foundational product knowledge
  • WSET Level 1 or WSET Level 2 (or higher) considered an asset (or willingness to obtain)


Requirements

  • Must reside within the Winnipeg area and be able to travel throughout the territory (including Brandon and surrounding regions)
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
