Job description

Petrotech is seeking a Proposal Engineer specializing in industrial automation and turbomachinery control systems. This position is responsible for evaluating customer requirements, developing technical and commercial proposals, defining system architectures, estimating costs, and creating winning solutions for gas turbine, steam turbine, hydro turbine, compressor, generator, and balance-of-plant control systems.

Who Should Apply:

This position is focused on developing technical solutions, system architectures, estimates, and customer proposals for industrial control systems. While knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and control system implementation is highly valuable, the primary responsibility is proposal engineering and solution development rather than software development or project execution.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

· Industrial control systems

· Turbomachinery controls

· Power generation automation

· Compressor control systems

· PLC/HMI/SCADA system design

· Proposal engineering and cost estimating

· System integration

· Rotating equipment control systems

· Technical sales engineering

· Process control engineering


Essential Duties:

· Evaluate customer technical and commercial specifications and prepare proposal submissions.

· Evaluate customer needs and develop technical solutions to establish the project scope when formal specifications are not available.

· Lead the proposal execution process and identify winning proposal strategies. Interface with customers, engineering, and management to provide cost competitive solutions and alternatives.

· Assists sales and marketing department with technical presentations and closing of sale.

· Develop tools to efficiently manage and support the proposal process.


Preferred Experience:

· Broad experience in the design and estimating of complex industrial control systems.

· Experience with rotating machinery control systems (gas turbines, steam turbines, hydro turbines, reciprocating engines, generators, compressors, etc.) is a plus.

· Experience with common off-the-shelf PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Emerson Rx3i, Siemens S7, Modicon, Triconex, etc.

· Experience with common HMI/SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Ignition, InTouch, Edge, etc.

· Familiarity with industrial automation network designs and cyber security standards and requirements.


Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

· B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, or related Engineering or related technical disciplines.

· Excellent customer interface and technical writing capabilities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Demonstrated ability to present highly technical solutions and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
