THE ROLE

As a year-round Finance & Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Oshkosh Corporation's financial operations while applying what you are learning in the classroom to real business situations.

Opportunities are available across several Finance and Accounting teams, and interns may be matched to assignments based on their skills, interests, academic background, and business needs. Depending on your assignment, you may gain experience in areas such as corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, financial analysis, or financial systems and controls.

You'll work alongside Finance and Accounting professionals, contribute to meaningful projects and recurring business processes, and develop an understanding of how financial information supports decision-making across a global organization.

As a year-round intern, you'll have the opportunity to build deeper experience over time while maintaining flexibility around your academic schedule.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Finance & Accounting Intern, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and other special projects
  • Supporting fixed asset accounting and related financial processes
  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports, schedules, and account activity
  • Assisting with sales and use tax returns, exemption certificates, and related compliance activities
  • Supporting federal, state, and international income tax processes and reporting
  • Conducting tax research and assisting with sales and use tax audits
  • Reconciling tax accounts and maintaining information related to state income tax payments and refunds
  • Supporting international tax activities, including foreign true-up calculations and country-by-country reporting
  • Assisting with daily treasury operations and banking activities
  • Performing bank and cash reconciliations
  • Monitoring and tracking treasury operational metrics and benchmarks
  • Supporting cash management activities and related financial transactions
  • Assisting with financial controls, compliance requirements, and audit support
  • Supporting the implementation or improvement of financial and treasury systems, processes, and procedures
  • Preparing documentation, reports, invoices, expense information, and other financial records
  • Identifying opportunities to improve, simplify, or automate Finance and Accounting processes
  • Collaborating with Finance professionals and business partners across Oshkosh

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance , or a related business field
  • Interest in developing a career in accounting, finance, tax, treasury, or a related area
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and business partners
  • Ability to work year-round, with approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time availability during summer and school breaks

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, coursework, or interest in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Financial or managerial accounting

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
