Role Overview

The Sales Manager, Northeast Region is responsible for leading and developing a team of outside sales representatives to drive profitable revenue growth, customer retention, and market expansion across the region. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales support, partnering with team members to strengthen customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The Sales Manager works closely with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Operations, and supplier partners to execute regional sales strategies and achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented sales leader with strong coaching skills, business acumen, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of outside sales representatives across the Northeast region.
  • Drive revenue growth through customer retention, account expansion, and new business development initiatives.
  • Establish regional sales objectives and performance expectations aligned with company goals.
  • Conduct regular field visits, ride-alongs, and coaching sessions to support sales effectiveness and professional development.
  • Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecasting metrics to ensure achievement of regional targets.
  • Partner with sales representatives on strategic customer opportunities, negotiations, and key account growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Category Management, Operations, and Customer Service teams to support customer success and business growth.
  • Ensure effective use of CRM tools, sales processes, and reporting systems to improve visibility and forecasting accuracy.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a strong commitment to safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence throughout the region.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Technical Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth and customer relationship management.
  • Previous sales leadership, team lead, or people management experience preferred.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and motivating sales professionals to achieve performance goals.
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based sales strategies.
  • Proven ability to analyze sales data, pipeline metrics, and market trends to drive business decisions.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of manufacturer, distributor, and end-user relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Northeast region and maintain strong customer and employee engagement.
