Job description

Overview

The Technology Sales Professional Certification Program is a 22-week program designed to support students in launching their careers in B2B sales. The program consists of five courses, which take place over two terms. The Technology Sales instructor will teach SELL 200, a 10-week teaching commitment that supports students weekly during their sales internship experience.

Term 1

  • SELL 100: Introduction to Professional Selling, 5 QH, 6 Weeks
  • SELL 110: Advanced Sales Strategy & Execution, 5 QH, 6 Weeks
  • CAR 204 Part 1: My Professional Story, 3 QH, 12 weeks

Term 2

  • SELL 200: Sales Externship, 10 QH, 10 Weeks
  • CAR 204 Part 2: My Professional Story, 2 QH, 10 weeks

Through the entire program, participants work with a career coach to develop the durable skills needed to be successful in their job including effective problem-solving, collaboration, reliability, confidence, and social awareness.

 

In order to complete the program, students must earn 25 Quarter Hour credits and maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA. Our vision is for all students to complete this program and successfully enter full time careers and consider continuing their education at National Louis University.

 

Candidates should have experience in teaching B2B sales in group settings. This is a part-time adjunct position that requires instructors to collaborate on a regular basis with the support team that surrounds each student. Typically, course instruction takes place twice weekly, with one session held virtually one weekday evening and the second session held in-person in Chicago on another weekday evening.

 

Timeline:

  • 10 week teaching commitment
Essential Responsibilities
  • Support a cohort of tech sales students during their externship by meeting with them on campus every Tuesday from 9-5pm, during which they'll be working towards their weekly goals and receive support, coaching, and advice from you.
  • Collaborate to develop an effective student experience for students.
  • Utilize technology-based teaching platforms, including D2L (our LMS), to assign and grade student work.
  • Maintain current and active knowledge of best practices in tech sales.
  • Communicate professionally, relate well, and share a passion for college success for diverse learners.
  • Participate in weekly virtual meetings with a Career Coach (who supports learners in the program) and Accelerate U Staff to report student progress and obstacles.
  • Empower students to develop competency by sharing a passion for the subject and the skills.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Technology proficient.
  • Excellent coaching of individuals new to Sales/Business development roles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a highly diverse faculty and student body.
  • Willingness/ability to use data to inform instruction.

Required Experience/ Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of professional B2B technology sales experience
  • 2+ years of hiring and/or coaching new hires in the sales field 
  • Experience with online/digital tools for teaching (preferred)
