The Director of Sales, Americas will lead all sales and business development activities across North, Central, and South America for AMETEK MOCON's products and services. This role is responsible for driving opportunity pipeline growth, order intake, revenue, gross margin performance, and market expansion throughout the region. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to Regional Sales Managers and Distributor Channel Partner Managers, coaching the team to execute a hybrid go-to-market strategy that combines direct sales to end customers with growth through value-added distributor partners. This leader will also enhance Salesforce CRM adoption and discipline, identify and develop new markets and applications, and drive sustained year-over-year revenue growth across the Americas.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the Americas sales organization to achieve revenue, margin, order intake, and sustained year-over-year growth targets.
  • Coach, develop, and manage Regional Sales Managers and Distributor Channel Partner Managers across North, Central, and South America.
  • Develop and execute regional and territory sales plans with measurable goals by salesperson, product line, customer segment, and timeline.
  • Drive disciplined Salesforce CRM usage across the team, including pipeline development, opportunity qualification, forecast accuracy, activity tracking, and management reporting.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with direct customers and channel partners while supporting the team on key account strategy, major opportunities, and complex negotiations.
  • Grow and manage the value-add distributor channel partner network through clear partner business plans, performance metrics, and regular business reviews.
  • Coach the team to identify new markets, applications, customer segments, and channel opportunities that support aggressive year-over-year growth.
  • Regularly report on opportunity pipeline development and order intake progress
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and peer regional sales leaders in APAC and EMEA to increase market awareness, support new product development, and mature scalable sales processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%, primarily in the Americas and occasionally overseas.

Experience & Professional Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in engineering, business or marketing.
  • A minimum of 10 years of direct and/or distribution sales related experience in sales of capital equipment with progressive levels of management experience. Experience in selling Modified Atmosphere Packaging, Process Analyzers, or Permeation instruments and services is a plus.
  • A strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales revenue projections in capital equipment sales; experience in driving revenue in technical products/instrumentation strongly preferred.
  • Experience in selling into national and/or international Food & Beverage Packaging, Pharma, and Health Care industries is a big plus.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
