Role Description

A Sixpence Sales Manager is responsible for guiding couples & corporate/social clients through the pre-booking process, particularly by performing in-depth venue tours and conducting post-tour follow-ups to best connect our company with the correct clients. A successful person in this role will have the insightful ability to connect with prospective clients on a high level while also genuinely taking time to learn and care for the client and the details of their event, and effectively guide them to the best fit for an event date at our venue.


Requirements

Relevant Sales Experience working directly with buyers all the way through the process.

Wedding and event industry experience strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Client Interaction: Communicate with potential and existing clients, providing venue tours, answering questions, and presenting event date & pricing options.
  • Venue Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of the venue's layout, amenities, and services to effectively present the venue to clients.
  • Follow-Up: Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients from tour through booking, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Sales & Industry Insight: Stay current on event-industry trends and continuously refine your sales approach and skills to maximize lead conversions and bookings.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and feedback.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow Sales Team members as well as other departments, such as event management and marketing, to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Reporting: Use company-provided tools to track personal sales activity, measure success, and provide regular reports to the Director of Sales.
  • Event Coordination: Sales Manager will also function as an Venue Manager on event days to assist clients & vendors in day-of event execution.


Essential Skills & Qualities

  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to close deals and help guide prospective bookings to understand all of their options for dates & services.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and vendors.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent customer service and address client questions & concerns.
  • Event Planning Knowledge: Understanding of event planning processes, including timelines, logistics, and vendor management.
  • Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple leads, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve questions and issues that may arise during the booking process.
  • Positive Attitude & Professional Demeanor: Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems, event management software, and Google Teams resources is extremely helpful.


Schedule

  • This position offers a semi-set, flexible schedule, with client tours typically held weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekends based on the venue’s event schedule.
  • Our team often performs Open Houses and other client-facing gatherings, and the expectation would be for a Sales Manager to attend these opportunities.
