Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating CNC machinery and a passion for precision engineering. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality parts and components according to specifications, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control measures. Your expertise in blueprint reading and mechanical knowledge will be essential in delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3, 4, and/or 5 Axis CNC Mill machines with an emphasis on 5 Axis machining, turning centers, and multi-axis machines.
  • Build Fixtures to drawing requirements.
  • Completes required work consistent with customer’s blueprint and specifications.
  • Inspects work for conformance to specification.
  • May operate more than one machine simultaneously.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately and keeps work area clean. Reports and/or corrects any unsafe conditions immediately and maintains an acceptable safety record.
  • Maintains a satisfactory attendance and punctuality record.
  • Measure and document as required inspection data to assure part compliance, utilizing mechanical methods, manual and automated CMMs.
  • Train Machine Operators if/when job is turned over to production.
  • Ability to work independently and identify issues, and problem solve in a productive timeframe.
  • Experience with tight tolerance aerospace / defense and semi-conductor NPI machining with the ability to hold tolerances of +/- .0002.”
  • Must be able to maintain a 90% efficiency rate during set-up/operation, and scrap rate of less than 1%.
  • Setup, Prove-out and optimize process to minimize cycle-time and increase probability of success while communicating and working with other departments i.e.) Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Deburring/Finishing

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years successful experience setting up and operating 5-Axis CNC Mill Machines, prior aerospace and/or defense experience strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mill tooling.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Proficiency with surface plate inspection.
  • Proficiency with various materials including aluminum, steel and stainless steel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good mathematical skills.
  • Qualified candidates will have their own tools.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
