Job description

Job Summary:
As a Sales Trainer you will lead new-hire onboarding and ongoing skill development for sales team members across Commercial Operations and Sales. This role owns the design and delivery of a consistent, proven sales training curriculum that builds high-performing selling behavior across multiple teams nationwide, that would include Transactional selling strategies, Gaining Access, Needs Analysis, Key Account Management, Complex Account Management, and other core selling skills that apply across the business. The Sales Trainer will also own and run GPRS's Sales Development Program, building the pipeline of talent that grows into future sales roles.
Job Goals:
  • Accelerate sales onboarding and readiness by equipping new sales hires with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to become productive and effective contributors more quickly.
  • Improve seller effectiveness and performance through targeted development programs that strengthen Needs Analysis, Key Account Management, and Complex Account Management capabilities.
  • Build and sustain a scalable Sales Development Program that consistently develops and prepares high-potential talent for successful sales careers within GPRS.
  • Drive measurable business impact by aligning sales training initiatives with pipeline quality, sales productivity, and revenue-generating outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver structured new sales hire training that gives every new seller a consistent, proven skill foundation from day one.
  • Design and facilitate ongoing education and skill-reinforcement programs for multiple teams across Commercial Operations and Sales.
  • Train sellers on transactional selling strategies for high-velocity, shorter-cycle sales conversations.
  • Train and coach Needs Analysis / needs-based selling techniques to help sellers uncover client priorities and tailor solutions.
  • Deliver Key Account Management training to strengthen how sellers grow and protect strategic client relationships.
  • Deliver Complex Account Management training for multi-stakeholder, longer-cycle, higher-value opportunities.
  • Build and reinforce a core set of critical selling skills, along with any other sales models or methodologies relevant to GPRS's evolving business needs.
  • Own and run GPRS's Sales Development Program, including curriculum design, onboarding and ramp milestones, and the structured path that develops participants into full sales roles.
  • Pursue and maintain access to sales trainer certifications, tools, and skillsets that strengthen curriculum design and delivery.
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial Operations leadership to identify skill gaps, performance trends, and training priorities across teams.
  • Build and maintain training curricula, playbooks, job aids, and reinforcement tools.
  • Conduct role-plays, call coaching, and live or virtual ride-alongs to reinforce skill application in real selling situations.
  • Facilitate both in-person (Maumee, OH) and virtual classroom training sessions for geographically dispersed teams.
  • Track training participation, skill adoption, Sales Development Program outcomes, and the impact of training on sales performance and pipeline metrics.
  • Stay current on sales training best practices and evolving methodologies, incorporating new approaches where they benefit GPRS's sales teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Commercial Operations, and HR/Learning & Development to align training with broader business goals.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in sales training or sales leadership.
  • 3-5 years of sales training, sales enablement, or sales leadership experience, including experience designing and delivering structured sales development programs.
  • Ability to work on-site in Maumee, OH two days per week and travel occasionally as needed.
  • Proven experience as a sales trainer, sales enablement professional, or sales leader with formal training responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience training on transactional selling, Gaining Access, Needs Analysis, Key Account Management, and Complex Account Management.
  • Experience building or running a sales development / sales onboarding program a strong plus.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills, with the ability to engage both new hires and tenured sellers.
  • Experience designing and delivering training for multiple teams or a geographically dispersed sales organization.
  • Comfortable measuring and reporting on training effectiveness and its connection to sales performance.
