Job description

Business Development Executive
Location
: Irwindale, CA (Headquarters)
Hours: Full-Time | Exempt
Build Relationships. Grow Partnerships. Expand Our Impact.
At Rize Credit Union, we believe financial services should do more than provide products—they should create opportunities and strengthen communities.
We’re looking for a Business Development Executive who can help us expand that impact by developing meaningful relationships with employers, community partners, and the people they serve.
This is an opportunity for someone who loves connecting with people, opening doors, and turning conversations into lasting partnerships. You’ll manage relationships with existing Select Employment Groups (SEGs), identify and pursue new business opportunities, represent Rize at events and presentations, and help introduce more people to the financial solutions and resources available through Rize.
If you’re energized by relationship building, networking, prospecting, presenting, and seeing measurable results from your efforts, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Build and Grow Strategic Relationships
  • Manage a portfolio of employer and community partnerships, developing strong relationships with key contacts and identifying opportunities to deepen engagement.
  • Regularly connect with and visit partner organizations to understand their needs and strengthen Rize’s presence.
  • Participate in employee events, new-hire orientations, financial education workshops, and other opportunities to introduce Rize and the benefits of membership.
  • Identify new ways to create value for our partners and expand access to Rize’s products, services, and financial education resources.
Develop New Business
  • Prospect for new employer and community partnerships through cold calling, networking, referrals, meetings, events, and consistent follow-up.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners and leads.
  • Meet with prospective partners and individuals to understand their needs and identify appropriate financial solutions.
  • Create opportunities that contribute to new memberships, accounts, loans, and deeper relationships with Rize.
  • Look for new access channels and creative ways to connect Rize with the employees and communities we serve.
Represent Rize in the Community
  • Serve as an enthusiastic and professional ambassador for Rize at partner locations, community events, presentations, and networking opportunities.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and financial education workshops to groups of varying sizes.
  • Build connections that support both business development and Rize’s broader community impact.
  • Partner with our Social Impact team when opportunities exist to deepen relationships and community engagement.
Collaborate and Deliver Results
  • Work closely with Business Development, Relationship Management, Marketing, Branch leadership, and other teams to turn opportunities into results.
  • Share ideas for improving presentations, outreach strategies, products, services, and the overall partner experience.
  • Ensure referrals and opportunities receive timely follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate records of partner activity, leads, opportunities, goals, and results.
  • Track progress toward assigned goals and communicate regularly with leadership about strategies, activities, and outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who combines the confidence of a business developer with the relationship skills of a trusted partner.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, community outreach, relationship management, sales, or a related field; financial services experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong external business relationships.
  • Experience presenting to groups and the confidence to represent Rize in front of partners and community audiences.
  • Strong sales, prospecting, networking, and lead-generation skills.
  • Comfort with cold calling and developing new relationships from the ground up.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline, stay organized, follow through, and work toward measurable goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional, approachable presence.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Comfort using CRM systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
A Role That Gets You Out Into the Community
This position is based at our Headquarters in Irwindale, California, but the work extends beyond the office. You’ll regularly visit partners, attend events, network, and represent Rize throughout the communities we serve.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for travel to partner locations and events. Some events and meetings may occur outside of standard business hours.
Why Rize?
At Rize Credit Union, our mission is to uplift communities through knowledge, access, and care. Our Business Development team plays an important role in bringing that mission to life—building relationships that introduce more people to Rize and creating opportunities to improve their financial well-being.
If you’re looking for a role where business development, relationship building, financial empowerment, and community impact come together, we invite you to apply.
Compensation

The expected pay range for this position is $70,500 – $84,000 per year for candidates residing in California.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.

Rize Federal Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
