Their main goal is to help clients understand how the product addresses their specific needs, often customizing the demo to align with the customer's use case. Sales Demo Pilots work closely with sales and product teams to ensure they are presenting the most up-to-date and relevant information. They also gather feedback from prospects to inform product improvements and sales strategies.

How does a sales demo pilot typically collaborate with the sales and product teams to enhance customer presentations?

A Sales Demo Pilot works closely with both the sales and product teams to ensure that product demonstrations are tailored to meet client needs and accurately reflect the product’s capabilities. This collaborative approach not only sharpens the effectiveness of each demo but also drives continuous improvement in both sales strategies and product development. Regular communication and joint planning sessions are common, making strong teamwork and adaptability key to success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales demo pilot, and why are they important?

Job description

Technical Solutions Engineer / Pre-Sales Engineer

San Francisco, United States Β· Full-time Β· 4 to 8 years

What we are building

Somewhere right now, a mechanical engineer with a graduate degree is manually dimensioning the same bracket for the ninth time this week. It's slow, it's thankless, and it's the last thing standing between a finished design and a factory floor.

Hanomi.ai helps engineering and manufacturing teams automate the creation of production-ready technical drawings from 3D CAD models. Our customers are technical teams that care deeply about CAD workflows, manufacturing documentation, drawings, tolerances, and engineering quality. They are also the kind of people who will tell you exactly what's wrong with your tolerance callout, which is a large part of why we like working with them.

Where you come in

We're small. Small enough that you'll know what everyone is working on, and small enough that the person who built the feature is the person you'll ask about it. Right now, when a customer asks a hard technical question mid-evaluation, the answer comes from whoever happens to be free. That's not a system. You'd be the system.

We're looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer / Pre-Sales Engineer based in San Francisco to support Hanomi's customer evaluations, technical demos, and implementation conversations.

This role is ideal for someone who can speak with engineering teams, understand CAD and manufacturing workflows, explain technical product capabilities, and help customers evaluate whether Hanomi fits their needs.

You'll work closely with sales, founders, product, and engineering to bridge the gap between customer requirements and Hanomi's product capabilities.

What lands on your plate
  • Support technical demos, customer evaluations, pilots, and proof-of-concept projects
  • Understand customer requirements around CAD files, technical drawings, GD&T, manufacturing documentation, and engineering workflows
  • Translate customer requirements into clear internal product and engineering feedback
  • Help prepare demo files, technical explanations, and evaluation material
  • Answer technical customer questions during sales and pilot conversations
  • Work with the product and engineering team to assess feasibility of customer requests
  • Support onboarding and handover from sales to customer success
  • Create technical notes, FAQs, demo guides, and customer-facing documentation
  • Identify product gaps, workflow blockers, and opportunities for improvement
  • Help build Hanomi's technical pre-sales process in the US
What you'll need from day one
  • 4 to 8 years in technical solutions, pre-sales engineering, applications engineering, solutions consulting, or technical customer-facing roles
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical workflows clearly
  • Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, or industrial customers
  • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with technical buyers
  • Ability to work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with high ownership
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, CAD, or industrial software
  • Familiarity with CAD tools, PLM, PDM, GD&T, CNC manufacturing, or technical drawings
  • Experience supporting enterprise software demos or technical pilots
  • Experience with manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or industrial customers
What you can look forward to

You'll be one of the key people helping technical customers understand and adopt Hanomi in the United States. This is a role where you'll work close to the product, close to the customer, and close to the founders.

You won't just give demos. You'll help shape the way Hanomi explains its technology, supports technical evaluations, and turns customer requirements into product direction.

There are no titles to wait for here. Scope grows when you show you can hold it, and we say so out loud when you do.
