Job description

Position Overview:
The Sales Analyst will support the retail sales team by providing detailed analysis, reporting, and insights to drive business performance. This role is crucial in tracking sales trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and improving sales strategies through data-driven insights. This position will report to the Sales Analytics Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performance Analysis:
  • Track and analyze and develop reports that provide insight to sales performance, KPIs, and other key metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support specific sales initiatives, product launches, or promotions.
  • Leverage analytics to help develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth, market share, and profitability objectives.

Promotion & Pricing Support:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to plan and execute sales-driven promotions and price changes.
  • Track the promotional calendar assess promotional performance and suggest improvements.
  • Assist managing and tracking the gross-to-net budget

Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
  • Stay updated on competitor activities, consumer trends, and industry developments.
  • Identify growth opportunities and potential risks based on data analysis.

Sales Forecasting & Planning:
  • Work closely with demand planning team and sales team to provide sales forecast input to ensure accurate sales projections across product categories and regions.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide feedback to demand planning team and sales team to adjust forecasts to meet changing market conditions and retail activities.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment on sales targets, promotional planning, and inventory needs.
  • Provide analytical support to sales and leadership to aid decision-making and strategic planning.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
  • Regularly assess sales processes and tools to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Assist with the development of new reporting methods and sales processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree Required

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, sales planning, sales analytics, and/or related roles within the consumer goods industry
  • Strong understanding of CPG sales processes and retail operations

Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy and process improvement.
  • Strong presentation building skills (e.g., PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Ability to occasionally travel for customer meetings and events
