Job description

Full-time opening at Salem Clinic Main, 2020 Capitol St NE, Salem, OR 97301

Be the first friendly, capable voice that keeps Salem Clinic running.

At Salem Clinic, the Help Desk is the first stop for every technology question, hiccup, and "can you take a look at this?" moment across our organization. We are a physician-owned, multi-specialty group that has served the Salem community for generations, and we are actively investing in AI and modern technology to help our providers work smarter and care for patients better. As a Help Desk Technician, you will be right in the middle of that work, on the phone, at the ticket queue, and at the desk of the person who needs you.

Every ticket you resolve, every call you route correctly, and every voicemail box you get working again means a provider or staff member can get back to focusing on patient care. Your work is the calm, capable first response that keeps the rest of the clinic moving.

Why You'll Love This Team

  • A close-knit IS team that genuinely supports each other, learns together, and takes pride in keeping Salem Clinic running.
  • A front-row seat to our AI initiatives, you will help configure, test, and shape the in-house AI tools we are rolling out clinic-wide.
  • Variety in every shift: hardware, software, phones, and people, no two days look the same.
  • Real growth potential within a physician-owned, community-rooted clinic where people build long, meaningful careers.

Job Summary: The Help Desk Technician provides first-level technical support for every end user across the organization. You will respond to help tickets, phone calls, and walk-ups, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and communication systems. Beyond computer support, you will help keep our phone system running and lend a hand configuring and testing the in-house AI tools we are building. This role calls for strong customer service, clear communication, and solid troubleshooting instincts in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for end users, responding promptly to help tickets, phone calls, and walk-up requests.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and communication systems, escalating complex problems when needed.
  • Configure phone extensions, update call routing, and troubleshoot handset and voicemail issues to keep our teams connected.
  • Assist with the configuration, testing, and development of in-house AI tools as they move from pilot to clinic-wide use.
  • Deliver clear, patient, customer-service-minded support to providers and staff, no matter how busy the queue gets.
  • Document resolutions and known issues so the whole team benefits from what you learn on each ticket.
  • Support new hardware and software rollouts, including setup, imaging, and installation across clinic locations.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong customer service skills and clear, patient communication, even when things get busy.
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and phone systems.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and frequent interruptions.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, including our growing suite of in-house AI applications.
  • A team-first attitude and pride in being the face of IS support for the whole organization

Our mission at Salem Clinic is to improve the health of those we serve in a spirit of compassion and respect.
