What are Salas?

In a professional context, 'Salas' is not a commonly recognized job title in English. It could refer to 'Sala,' which in some languages means 'room' or 'hall,' or it might be a misspelling or abbreviation for a job title like 'Sales.' If you are referring to 'Sales,' this role typically involves selling products or services, building client relationships, and achieving revenue targets. Sales professionals work in a variety of industries and may specialize in areas such as retail, business-to-business (B2B), or online sales.

What are the typical challenges faced by sales professionals when working to meet monthly targets?

Sales professionals often encounter challenges such as managing a high volume of leads, handling client objections, and adapting to changing market conditions. Balancing time between prospecting new clients and nurturing existing relationships can be demanding. Additionally, collaborating closely with marketing teams and staying updated on product knowledge are essential for success. Effective communication and resilience are key traits that help overcome these obstacles and achieve sales goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sales professional, you need strong interpersonal skills, persuasive communication, and a good understanding of the products or services you represent, often supported by a relevant degree or sales certifications. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems like Salesforce and data analysis tools is highly beneficial. Outstanding soft skills include resilience, active listening, and the ability to build rapport quickly with clients. These abilities are crucial for effectively identifying customer needs, closing deals, and fostering long-term business relationships.

Electrical Engineer
At RFS Engineering, a Salas O'Brien Company, we tell our clients that we're engineered for impact. This passion for making a difference applies just as much to our team as it does to our projects. That's why we're committed to living our values every day: inspiring, achieving, and connecting as shared owners of our success with a focus on a sustainable future.
Building for the long-term means that all of our team members can expect to work on amazing projects with a people-first approach to problem solving. It also means that each member of our team has truly limitless potential to build a unique, meaningful, and high-impact career-and they'll receive great total rewards along the way.
Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and leadership of complex building electrical and power systems projects. This role provides technical expertise across utility interconnections, power generation and distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and sustainable design initiatives, while also engaging directly with clients. Candidates with deep electrical systems expertise are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex building electrical systems across all project phases
  • Design and coordinate systems including utility interconnections, medium-voltage distribution, standby and prime power generation, UPS systems, photovoltaic power systems, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and lightning protection
  • Perform and oversee power system studies including short circuit, load flow, power quality, harmonic analysis, and arc flash analysis using SKM Systems Analysis and/or EasyPower
  • Develop electrical master plans and support long-term infrastructure strategies
  • Support cogeneration, prime-rated power, and renewable energy system integration, including PPA coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, owners, utilities, and contractors to resolve technical challenges
  • Provide utility rebate support and contribute to sustainable design strategies, including LEED, LBC, PHIUS, and WELL certifications
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project coordination efforts

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
  • Minimum of 7-15 years of experience designing and leading design teams for building electrical systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Demonstrated experience with complex power distribution and generation systems
  • Proficiency with SKM Systems Analysis and/or EasyPower preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work confidently in client-facing environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously

Location: NH/ME/MA (Hybrid)
Travel: Up to 20%
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000-$160,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
