Job Description

Microvast is seeking a lead electric school bus powertrain engineer to join our team! Who can bring their fresh perspectives and experiences to the team. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussion and engagement with customer
  • Lead technical and cross-functional development for electric school bus powertrain engineering activities, including requirements definition, architecture design, mechanical integration, software implementation, HIL testing, field testing, system validation, and software release management.
  • Collaborate with the global teams and upper management to identify and develop electrical powertrain architecture and requirements for school bus.
  • Lead and manage electrical powertrain development plans, milestones, budgets, and schedules in accordance with technology roadmaps.
  • Lead technical layouts and proposals to customer inquiries
  • Guide, review and approve of technical documentation
  • Lead methodical root cause analysis and resolve issues in part performance
  • Lead for the commissioning of products internally or at the customer's (on-site or remotely)
  • Lead and managing prototypes and testing.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical bus or electric school bus powertrain integration.
  • Solid technical understanding of electric powertrain systems for Mid/Heavy-Duty commercial vehicle or school bus.
  • Familiarity with product development processes (e.g., V-model, APQP, IATF16949, or similar)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Structured, proactive, and hands-on working style
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
